Everyone, I know we all know that awkward moment when you are about removing your socks/ shoes after a long day – wondering if the foot odour will be less or more. Up until last month, I have managed the mild version of this annoying issue which spring up from time to time, for few years. Though foot odour isn’t really an issue in summer because I wear sandals then. However at some point, I just stopped bothering about it and just keep my shoes on during the day at all times – no shoe removal, no odour!
I spent money on antifungal, vitamins and antiseptic to improve my hygiene especially that of my feet the most. I did noticed a small improvement. People even tell me that it is not an issue because everyone deals with it.
Luckily, I discovered Karroo Foot Powder just a month ago which has helped massively with the issue – if only I had found this product earlier.
The list price for this product (100g) is only R15.95 at Dischem, which is way more a beauty haul compared to the price I got it earlier at Clicks R18.95.
The product features a simple way to cut foot odour entirely but as an added benefit, it refreshes your feet all day too with regular use.
The product is made for people who sweat but do not like not even a bit of funky smell from their feet, no matter the cause of the funniness, whether it is
• bacteria producing isovaleric acid from your sweat
• skin infection caused by fungus
• poor hygiene
• tight and low quality shoes
The best for me about this product is that it is effective and easy to use. At the same time, it is cheap but I guess it proved a point that, not only high-end products are effective. I learnt the product can be used to improve dry and scaly skin – I guess people love repurposing products
The main ingredients include talc and zinc oxide which has loads of controversies revolving around it. However talc seems to cause side effects when inhaled but I don’t think that risk is high while using a foot powder.
The powder has a tendency of sticking to my toe nails – not a pleasant sight.

However, this product might not work for everyone especially in cases where the foot odour is super strong. Then you need to seek medical help +/- the usage of this product. My upcoming blog post on foot odours and its causes will tell you more on the issue.
My Final Opinion
After trying various methods and products to fix the issue, finding this product much earlier could have made me avoid time, money and effort spent hopping from one treatment to another – sigh! If you have a minor version of foot odour, this product is definitely worth trying so long you aren’t allergic to any of its ingredient. I will re-buy without doubt as soon as I run out.
